South Africans march in protest demanding Nigerians and Zimbabweans leave the country.

A group of South Africans calling themselves 'Only One SA' have engaged in a protest demanding that Nigerians and Zimbabweans leave the country.

Local news channels reported that the group marched to Nigerian and Zimbabwean embassies in Pretoria during the protest on Wednesday September 23. 

 

They have also made inflammatory accusations on social media, using the hashtags ‘Nigerians Must Go’ and ‘Zimbabwe Must Go’, including that foreign nationals are guilty of human trafficking and ruining communities with drugs.

Organizers of the protest who insisted that they are not being xenophobic, said the aim of the protest is to push for South Africans to be prioritised on home soil.

NECO to Reschedule Examination due to #EndSARS Protest

  The ongoing #EndSARS protests across the country has forced the National Examinations Council (NECO) to reschedule one of its Senior SChool Certificate Examinations papers currently ongoing across the country. NECO in a statement in Minna on Sunday evening signed by its Head Information Unit, Mallam Azeez Sani, said the Computer Studies Practicals paper 1 earlier scheduled to take place on Monday 19 October 2020, 10am to 1pm has been rescheduled for Monday 16 November 2020, 10am-1pm. Mallam Sani disclosed that the decision to reschedule the Examinations followed blockage of free movement of vehicles at the City gate in Benin, the Edo state capital, hence the inability of the council vehicles to deliver the papers for the Monday Examinations.
