Breaking – UFC: Nigeria’s Dawodu beats Russian opponent

Nigerian-born fighter Hakeem Dawodu Sunday morning defeated Russia’s Zubaira Tukhugov with a hard fought split decision to kick off the UFC 253 main card.

 

Hakeem Dawodu earned his fifth straight victory after the encounter.

 

After three rounds, the judges scored the fight 30-27 and 29-28 for Dawodu while the third official gave it to Tukhogov with a 29-28 score in his favor.

 

“I thought it was going to be a good fight but as everybody can see, he was running,” Dawodu shouted after the win. “I promise the next fight, give me somebody that ain’t gonna run.”

 

In the end, Dawodu got the split decision victory as he moves to 5-1 overall in the UFC while making a steady climb towards the featherweight top 15 rankings.

NECO to Reschedule Examination due to #EndSARS Protest

  The ongoing #EndSARS protests across the country has forced the National Examinations Council (NECO) to reschedule one of its Senior SChool Certificate Examinations papers currently ongoing across the country. NECO in a statement in Minna on Sunday evening signed by its Head Information Unit, Mallam Azeez Sani, said the Computer Studies Practicals paper 1 earlier scheduled to take place on Monday 19 October 2020, 10am to 1pm has been rescheduled for Monday 16 November 2020, 10am-1pm. Mallam Sani disclosed that the decision to reschedule the Examinations followed blockage of free movement of vehicles at the City gate in Benin, the Edo state capital, hence the inability of the council vehicles to deliver the papers for the Monday Examinations.
